Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to my family, friends, and my friends out in the blogging world. I love all of the neat information we share.

It is cold in VA and cloudy, but no snow. Maybe a Christmas miracle of snow will happen overnight? We shall see.

Love to everyone!!

Good Work, Team!

United States Attorney Julia C. Dudley announced today that Larry Allan Brown, age 47, Michael Shane Brown, age 42 and Harold Edward Mills, age 54, were sentenced in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia in Charlottesville today on a variety of drug and wire fraud charges related to their participation in a large scale drug distribution organization.

In October, Larry Brown pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and one count of wire fraud involving Lowe’s, Inc. Today in District Court, he was sentenced to 130 months of Federal incarceration and five year’s of supervised release thereafter.

Michael Brown and Mills both previously pled guilty to one count of wire fraud for their role in a scheme to defraud Lowe’s, Inc. Today, Michael Brown was sentenced to three months of probation. Mills was sentenced to four months in prison followed by four months of home detention and three years of supervised release thereafter.

“Larry Brown was a part of a group of individuals that placed the entire community in harm’s way by bringing large amounts of cocaine powder and crack cocaine into the Fluvanna area,” United States Attorney Julia C. Dudley said today. “I believe the sentence of Larry Brown handed down today is appropriate considering the seriousness of his actions.”

Also charged as being part of the drug conspiracy was Kenneth Brown and Steven Brown. Also charged in the wire fraud conspiracy was Deborah Gentry, James Sandridge and Latisha Willis. In October, Kenneth Brown pled guilty to one count of managing a continuing criminal enterprise. He faces up to life imprisonment. Previously, Steven Todd Brown pled guilty to one count of conspiring to distribute cocaine powder and crack cocaine and one count of wire fraud. He faces a term of imprisonment ranging from 10 years to life. In September, Gentry, Sandridge and Willis had previously pled guilty to wire fraud. Kenneth Brown will be sentenced on January 12, 2009.

Steven Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on January 26, 2009.

The facts of the case are as follows: Since approximately 2001, Kenneth Brown has been the leader of a drug conspiracy organization that distributed multiple kilos of cocaine powder and crack cocaine throughout the Fluvanna area. The organization was comprised of a number of individuals, including his brothers Steven Todd Brown and Larry Allan Brown.

A detailed and thorough investigation revealed that Kenneth Brown was the principal administrator of the organization and had an extensive network of sub-distributors that he personally supervised.

Intelligence gathered during the investigation concluded that during a five-year period, Kenneth Brown received from one source a kilo of cocaine once or twice a month. That cocaine was then disseminated throughout the organization and sold. Kenneth Brown himself admitted during the course of the investigation that between 2004 and 2007 he had purchased between 60-70 kilos of cocaine, paying approximately $25,000 per kilo.

Throughout the term of the conspiracy, Kenneth Brown accumulated sufficient quantities of cash to support himself and others, all while having little or no legitimate source of income.

While Kenneth Brown was certainly the leader of this organization, his brother, Steven Brown, was viewed as the second in command. Most individuals involved with the organization knew Steven Brown as the “cook” because of his ability to process cocaine powder into more potent crack cocaine. In addition to cooking crack cocaine, Steven Brown also served as one of the distributors of both powder and crack cocaine.

In December of 2006, while Kenneth Brown was in custody, Steven Brown devised a plan in which individual members of the conspiracy organization would enter any Lowe’s Home Improvement stores in the area and fill a shopping cart with small, but expensive merchandise. The individual would then walk out of the store without paying for the items. They, or others on their behalf, would then re-enter the original store or an alternate site, whether it be immediately or at some point in the future, and return the items.

Typically, Lowe’s customer service representatives would issue a gift card in the amount of the returned items. Members of the conspiracy would then either sell or trade to other members of the conspiracy. More often however, the gift cards would be used to purchase crack cocaine directly from Steven Brown.

Along with co-defendants Harold Mills, Deborah Gentry, age 41, James Sandridge, age 46, Michael Brown, Harold Mills and Latisha Willis, age 34, Steven Brown and Larry Brown stole approximately $40,000 worth of merchandise and gift cards from Lowe’s Home Improvements.

The investigation of the case was conducted by for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Virginia State Police, the JADE Task Force, the Fluvanna County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, the Albermarle County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorney Ron Huber is prosecuting the case for the United States.

Red, White, and Blue Christmas

The last Barney cam of the Bush Presidency! I loved these videos - they were fun to play for the kids who would come into our office. They always teached good lessons on national history and educate them on the Federal Government!:

"Thank you for joining us for “A Red, White and Blue Christmas” at the White House!

This year’s theme celebrates the patriotic spirit that unites us as Americans. During this hopeful season we are reminded of the blessings of freedom we enjoy, and we renew our sense of what is important in our lives. Family and friends gather to share old traditions and create new ones. Strangers exchange smiles and tidings of good cheer. Children happily sing along to the songs of the holidays and help bake holiday treats for their loved ones.

We are grateful to the White House Executive Residence staff, artists from around the country and many volunteers for decorating the White House red, white and blue! Thanks to their creativity and hard work, this year’s holiday decorations reflect the best of the American spirit.

May your holidays be filled with joy and happy memories
.

A Soulful Relationship

A Soulful Relationship

By Reverend Ronald McFadden

If you're not married yet, share this with a friend. If you are married, share it with your spouse or other married couples and reflect on it. An African proverb states, "Before you get married, keep both eyes open, and after you marry, close one eye."

Before you get involved and make a commitment to someone, don't let lust, desperation, immaturity, ignorance, pressure from others, or a low self-esteem make you blind to warning signs. Keep your eyes open, and don't fool yourself that you can change someone or that what you see as faults is not really important.

Once you decide to commit to someone, over time their flaws, vulnerabilities, pet peeves, and differences will become more obvious. If you love your mate and want the relationship to grow and evolve, you've got to learn to close one eye and not let every little thing bother you. You and your mate have many different expectations, emotional needs, values, dreams, weaknesses, and strengths. You are two unique individuals who have decided to share a life together.

Neither of you are perfect, but are you perfect for each other? Do you bring out the best of each other? Do you compliment and compromise with each other, or do you compete, compare, and control? What do you bring to the relationship? Do you bring past relationships, past hurt, past mistrust, past pain?

You can't take someone to the altar to alter him or her. You can't make someone love you or make someone stay. If you develop self-esteem, spiritual discernment, and 'a life', you won't find yourself making someone else responsible for your happiness or responsible for your pain. Manipulation, control, jealousy, deceitfulness, neediness, and selfishness are NOT the ingredients of a thriving, healthy, loving and lasting relationship. Seeking status, sex, wealth, and security are the wrong reasons to be in a relationship.

Q. What keeps a relationship strong?
Answer: Communication, intimacy (not sex), trust, a sense of humor, sharing household tasks, some getaway time without business or children and daily exchanges (a meal, a shared activity, a hug, a call, a touch, a note), sharing common goals and interests. Leave a nice message on their voice mail or send a nice email.

Growth is important. Grow together, not away from each other, giving each other space to grow without feeling insecure. Allow your mate to have outside interest. You can't always be together. Give each other a sense of belonging and assurances of commitment. Don't try to control one another. Learn each other's family situation. Respect his or her parents regardless. Don't put pressure on each other for material goods. Remember for richer or for poorer. If these qualities are missing, the relationship will erode as resentment, withdrawal, abuse, neglect, dishonesty, and pain will replace the passion. "Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think. The grass withers, the flowers fades, but the word of God stands forever." Isaiah 40:8.

Shall we make a new rule of life from tonight? You should always to try to be a little more kind to each other than necessary. The difference between 'United' and 'Untied' is where you put the 'I'. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

========================================================================

I got this from an email a while back. I love it every time I read it.

Post on All Things Christmas

So... I couldn't find an EXACT copy of my Christmas card - but here is a similar one - Mike and I had fun filling them out together this year - not done yet - he just happened to use MOST of them so now I need to find some still-cute ones tonight after my final! Jeez!

Our Federal Building had it's Christmas Party last Friday. I know lots of people have cancelled their parties this year due to the climate - but ours has always been at one of the judge's homes and mostly everyone brings one dish. This year I baked both my favorite sugar cookie recipe from a local chef who is a family friend ...

Oh Christmas Tree...

Preppy Gingerbread Man - blue golfing pants polka dotted shirt -

Mike's conservative (TYPICAL!!) snowman:

My MRS. Bill (oh no!!):

and I also did a Giada De Laurentiis recipe - although I fear I used a bit too much mint in my love of mint for the other people eating the food. However, they did go quickly - didn't sell out completely - but they were munched on by at least a dozen or more diners... PLUS, Mike HATES peas, but loved this one. haha

Sweet Pea Crostini:
Ingredients
Sweet Peas:
2 cups chicken broth or water
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 (16-ounce) bag frozen peas
1/4 cup fresh chopped mint
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup whipping cream
3 ounces finely diced prosciutto
Crostini:
1 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch thick slices
Extra-virgin olive oil, for drizzling
3 to 4 cloves garlic
Directions
For the Sweet Peas: Warm the chicken broth and red pepper flakes in a medium

saucepan over medium-high heat until the broth boils. Add the frozen peas and cook until the peas are tender, about 5 minutes. Drain the peas in a mesh sieve.

Place the peas in a food processor with the mint, salt, and pepper. Puree the pea mixture. Place the pea puree in a medium bowl and refrigerate until cool, about 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, for the crostini: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Place the baguette slices on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in the oven until toasted and golden around the edges, about 10 minutes. While the crostini are still warm, drizzle the tops with extra-virgin olive oil. Using a whole clove of garlic in your fingertips, rub the top of the crostini a few times to give a hint of garlic.

I do not put the cream in - it is fluffy and dense enough as it is, and I think it just adds fat to the dish.... I DO get generous with the proscuitto though... To finish, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the pea puree. Top each of the crostini with about 1 tablespoon of pea puree. Sprinkle with a bit of the diced prosciutto. Serve immediately.

Talk about LAME - now, I love Lowes - my Daddy works there as a pre-retirement job (and he can hang out with lots of people we know and get them to buy from him, among other benefits! ha!) and so Mike and I wanted to go there to get a tree to support Daddy. WELL, guess what? Lowe's delivered their Christmas trees to their stores BEFORE EVEN THANKSGIVING. Soooo when people like Mike and I were wanting to buy a REAL tree and a cast-iron tree stand, there was NOTHING left. Whether it was a fresh tree - while there were some they were either tiny or too tall (for our lame-ass townhome)! or a nice tree stand (who the heck puts a 6.5 foot tree into a plastic tree stand)? So we sadly wandered into the building to look at fake trees - neither of us has EVER had a fake tree before - but the more expensive ones were nice. We picked out this baby:

And when we went to check out - it was only $90! 50% off! Yay! We were very excited. And you know what? It looks nice!! I will post pictures of it soon with all of the presents around it.

The Office & The Townhouse

AND

The townhouse was AWFUL. Cheaply made - didn't show in the pictures but in person it did. Each townhouse is allotted ONE PARKING SPACE. Not two, but One. Who the hell lives alone in a 2300 square foot townhome? And the floors were NOT hardwood. They were def. a mediocre hardwood laminate at best. It was hollow and bubbly in spots. The counters were NOT really granite. "Granite-patterned" maybe. Like, as in normal countertop with stupid laminate countertop crap on there. It was such a bummer. Very lame.

Oh well.

At least it further pushes me towards the happiness of a ring!!!

Rings... take 2

So... I think it boils down to...

1. blue oval-cut sapphire 2.41 carat with 2 half-moon 0.40 carat diamond sidestones which could be filigree-cut as the band is already in platinum and wouldn't have to be reset...

This is the ring:

OR

2. oval-cut diamond 1.32 carat with 2 oval-cut 0.81 carat diamond sidestones and 5 pave diamonds on either side going down either side with filigree...

Bare bones look at the stones plus band, sans paves or filigree....

We shall see... : )

Gross

Sometimes, I hate being a woman. Cramps are THE worst. I am sitting at my desk at work with a heating pad and I took 3 Advil and now I am SLEEPY. NOT GOOD. I have an exam review tonight and I am barely awake. Boo. Thankfully, the cramps have gone away. But I still have to drive the hour to my evening class. And it is raining and foggy. Yuck.

Heck Yes!

AUGH

So, while working on Christmas Cards... I have come to a conclusion. I need a new Address Book. The one I have I got while shopping at Harrod's in 6th grade. Yes, it is that old. BUT, I have held onto it because it is Kate Spade, and is Kelly Green, and is Ostrich skin. However, the inserts no longer exist. Does anyone know where I can find UBER-cute three-ring (about 8"-10" tall) inserts? Target failed miserably for me and it was my biggest hope. Anyone have any input?

Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway!! I will have it open until the end of this week!

Lastly, Muffy asked me what I was coveting today... here are my mad-dash results....

1. Patagonia Stretch Velocity Hoodie:

I would love this for morning walks-runs. And for jogging to and from my car at Gold's Gym!

2. Elizabeth Arden Good Morning skin Serum:

After my spa day at Red Door, they gave me a makeup consultation - which included placing this amazing serum on my face. L-O-V-E it!

3. Elizabeth Arden High Shine Lip Gloss:

They put this on my lips and it was SOOO flattering. I normally go for more plum-toned things, but this was really flattering! I was surprised!!
After reading Hopsy's latest blog entry, my heart has just felt so full and grateful.
Yes, "tis the season to be jolly" - but isn't it also the season to GIVE and LOVE? Hopsy really showed her good colors as she thought about others this weekend and even spent some extra money on Toys for Tots. I am so happy to have friends in the blogging world like this Lady. People are in need right now, genuine need.
On Thursday, over 20,000 Americans lost their jobs. 21 days before Christmas (and other respective holidays, of course). Can you imagine? It made me almost physically sick. And that wouldn't even include the small firms that don't get picked up by Bloomburg and CNN. Ugh.
And so this happened on Thursday and then on Friday I went to the Red Door Spa. Yes, it was an early Christmas gift from Michael, and it was lovely. Massage and Manicure. It was a big gift of LOVE from my LOVE, and I walked out feeling better than I had in months. I had been to the doctor what - 4 times in the past 6 weeks. And been in the hospital, too? Of course I needed it.
So this is what I decided...

1. Take more time for myself. Instead of drinking too much wine and booze. Buying lots of shoes I DO NOT need, and eating sushi from Teeter like 2x-3x a week some months for lunch... do better things. Drink more water. Get a massage - it's good for the body and the soul and can get toxins out of your system. Exercise as regularly as I should - doctors say that will make a good bit of difference on my chest problems. Don't bring work home with me, whether it be literal work, or if it is negative thoughts about my day at work.

2. Take more time for others. See what the local churches do for charities. I am still a member of the church I grew up at in Lexington - because it is the most important place to me - but that doesn't mean I can't go more frequently to other places closer by and HELP. Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, etc etc. I am sure there is something more I could do on my weekends besides cook for Michael and I, and study for school. I do meditate, but I want to do something more hands-on if possible.

3. Give more for others. I've already made some donations -monetarily- to token charities - one of my Chatham Hall classmates participated in the St. Jude Memphis Half-Marathon over the weekend - so I gave to that for her, because that is such an amazing thing to do... I do donate to my alma maters - Chatham Hall, Camp Seafarer, and Randolph-Macon College --- and to organizations I think truely make a difference while sharing my personal beliefs - Ducks Unlimited, the Nature Conservancy, Chesapeake Bay Foundation... but I am sure there is more to the big picture that I just haven't come across yet.

These are my new years resolutions. Thank you Hopsy for inspiring me!!

100th post! and Britney's BACK

Okay, so I like Circus WAY more than Womanizer but that's because of the whole I-am-ADD-lots-of-stuff-going-on-whoa factor, I think. BUT, still, I am super-excited for the video! Good job Britney!

AND! It is my 100th post! I know, exciting right? I have had the blog less than a year and so I am def. proud of myself. My giveaway is going to have a handful of things, I'll likely mail it FedEx or a Priority Box.... I've got some beachy stuff, a couple of books I think people may like, some PINK and GREEN stuff, and a couple of other surprises up my sleeve... Comment on this post if you want to be entered!

Disappointed

Just found out a lot of bad things about the town where the house is so... we are not going to get it.

We were literally -> <- this close to getting it. We were so lucky that there was a counter-offer, otherwise we would be obligated to get the house. I am completely devastated, naturally.

So sad.

Hands Down

Hands down, this was the best part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade...

More Christmas stuff

Ordered some more little presents from Calista Cove during my lunch...

Everyday, Jennifer and the ladies at Calista Cove have a Daily Deal. The Daily Deal is often something that people would LOVE to have. I have gotten multiple items from this thing!

Todays Daily Deal is the Jennifer Grove Luxe Soy Candle...

5 scents available and they are all lovely. I chose the Fresh White Floral Bouquet and the Lush Hyacinth Bouquet for my purchase.

So excited to sniff them both when they come in!

For Katie

To mock my coworker who just told us that she is pregnant, I have this funny/embarassing clip for her:

Her youngest daughter, Chloe, just turned 2, and she found out recently about how she is going to have a little brother or sister. When Katie told her, "There is a baby growing inside my belly"... Chloe decided to pull up Katie's shirt, and try to "open up" her belly through her belly button! HA! I love kids, they crack me up. Natch, I thought of this clip from Knocked Up.

Ornaments & a Story

So, Michael and I are spending our first Christmas together. It was around this time last year that I first REALLY noticed him in the office building, while he had been looking at me for a good while... ha.

But seriously, I fell for him looks-wise (as we don't really WORK together) at around this time of year. I cannot believe he has been a part of my life for this long already - it has gone by so fast.

We are having so much fun picking things out together - Christmas presents, etc. We both love Christmas. And I think I have found an adorable Christmas Ornament (of which WE have none of yet...):

The Ornament Girl has ADORABLE ornaments, handmade!

This is one of hers, it is one of my favorites:
Lilly Pulitzer, in the Pineapple Passion fabric

How could you not LOVE an ornament like that?! Perfection!!

Gah!!

It is supposed to flurry to around an inch of snow tonight! So excited!! : )
I will have my fingers crossed!
I mean, yes, I am a Southerner, but getting snow is so romantic...

Friday, November 21, 2008

Oh yay!

My Christmas present for one of my bffs came in the mail today! So glad I didn't accidentally blog about it! Woot!

Weekend Plans...

On Sunday Dad/our Realtor and Mike and I are going to look at the house. It will be the first time Dad has been to the house. Very big deal and exciting.

Tomorrow Mike will be training so I will likely be sleeping like I am supposed to be doing more of - and maybe some studying for Biology as well.

Tonight, hopefully just cuddling with Mike and eating a yummy dinner and maybe just vegging out. We are doing our best to hold out on starting to watch holiday movies. It has been unseasonably cooler lately - highs of 45 all week with lows in the 20s! Brrr! So maybe we will watch some more of Band of Brothers instead - which I always find very moving and makes me more appreciative of the grandfathers in this world!!

If I take any pics this weekend I will be sure to share them!

Very Sad

It makes me very sad to know that other nations do not respect our position in the world anymore. We used to be a popular, well-liked country, and then something like this happens and our elected President (who is leaving in a month so why can't the haters just let it go?) has no respect whatsoever:

I just find that messed up. Regardless of political beliefs, this man is still the President of the United States, and to just be like that is not the nicest thing to do. What happened to etiquette and social graces?

My Cleaning Method

I worked at Nordstrom for a couple of years in Lingerie, probably one of the most lovely jobs I have ever had - and I learned so much while I was there. One of the things I learned was how to really LOVE your expensive "little things". Little things = lingerie, cashmere garments, and silk accessories and pieces. I used to just handwash my lingerie with soap and then drape it over my shower-curtain Carrie Bradshaw style. Cashmere and silk I would just take to the Dry-Cleaners. Have you ever had a BAD dry-cleaning incident though? Where you take your favorite sweater in and then before you know it, it was too roughly handled and it was permanently ruined? These are the risks you get for taking your clothes to someone else! So, at Nordstrom I learned about a beautiful thing. It is called Nordstrom Lingerie Wash. And I love it. It is $16 for 32 ounces. HOWEVER, it is biodegradable, phosphate-free, and hypoallergenic! The bottle size, color, and scent changes almost every year, but if I go to Nordies and they have the lavendar-scented version in stock I get like 3 bottles. It is fantastic. If you have a new-style steam washer or the new front-loading kind, then you can put them in there - not even a lot as it is ultra-concentrated... but I like to just wash my things by hand. This is what the bottle looks like:

I follow the same format - almost completely as The Laundress girls, so I am just going to copy-paste how they suggest to wash these things with my own commentary:
So I normally grab a glass of wine or club soda with lime and a magazine if I am going to be doing multiple loads just so I can be entertained...
-Pour room temperature water in a basin. I use just a freshly-cleaned bathtub as most of my clothes tend to be dry-clean only and I can get a large amount done in one afternoon.
-Add a few squirts of the Laundress Wool
and Cashmere Shampoo. I do a capful of the Nordstrom Lingerie Wash - regardless of whether it is sweaters, bras, hose, or delicate undergarments.
-Agitate the water and detergent by hand to mix. Normally for me this is just running the soap around and I can really check to make sure the water is the right temperature.
-Add sweater to water basin. Or whatever it is that you are washing. I normally sort the garments like normal washing loads, pastels, darks, mediums, whites, and hook the bra together so it keeps it shape, I normally do the hose and silks together separate from the sweaters - even if they are the same material - just to avoid fuzzies and the sort.
-Move the sweater in the water for a minute by hand. This is kind-of like your very own agitator, being your arm!
-Let it soak for at least a half hour. If I haven't washed this stuff in a while I normally let it soak for a good while - esp. brand new sweaters, to get rid of excess colors, etc. I normally do like 30 minutes for hose/thigh highs and silk tops/shells, 40 minutes for my lacy bras and lacy panties/boy shorts/thongs/tangas/etc (I did work in lingerie so I have a great number of these babies!!), an hour for my more regularly-worn bras (Le Mysteres, Chantelle, Calvin Klein, DKNY basics), and then 1+ for the other heavier-knit/gauge fabrics.
- Run room temperature water into basin to rinse out soapy water, run water until soapy water is gone. This is really important because you don't want your clothes to be half-soapy. This does get tough with the bigger pieces.
- Take soaking wet sweater out of the basin. DO NOT WRING THE SWEATER. Seriously, DO NOT WRING THE SWEATER!
- Lay towel over flat surface and place sweater completely flat on the towel. I use the most well-worn towels we have so I don't have to worry about fuzzies and colors leaching into fabrics. I also tend to just lightly shake off/drip the hose and bras/lingerie since they dry faster and you don't have to worry about shape/etc.
- Roll the sweater up in towel (like a rolling pin) to remove the water. I do this and then I immediately move it to a drying rack.

I hope you all liked hearing this input. Let me know if you think of other entries that you would like for me to write!

House, School, Health, and Fashion

First thing is first, FASHION! I love these shoes from Nine West. They are called the Ginga from their Boutique 9 line. Actually, I think they were shown on Gossip Girl this week, too! (Worn with Serenas completely slu$%^y Thanksgiving outfit. I was shocked. Fishnets with a SHORT skirt like that? I really thought her buttcheek was showing. Jeez... Anyway, here are the adorable shoes! Suede! Jewel-tone color!:

I ordered about 2 weeks ago an adorable pink and green belt from Calista Cove - and it ended up being on sale - this after I had said I was in love with it in my entry from September 30! So here is the adorable belt I ordered:

Now, if I can ever have a life with my health then I can wear these babies out! Sheesh!

My fellow G.R.I.T.S. girl sent me some loverly VV belts that she let me buy from her for a STEAL!

I love belts. I just feel like they dress up an outfit!!

Okay, so on to more serious things. So I got diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with Costochondritis. It is basically like when you get the symptoms of a heart attack (chest pain, tingly in random limbs, numbness in random limbs, whacked-out heart rate, difficulty breathing, etc) and you can go into cardiac arrest if it isn't taken care of. SCARY. So, Michael being Mr. Wonderful Attentive BF took my pulse, thought it was high but that we would monitor it. Well, 5:00 rolls around and my pulse is even faster! So, he takes me to the hospital, they take me away. He is stuck hanging out in the waiting room while they do an IV, chest XRay, pull like 6 tubes full of blood for some damn tests, EKG, and put me on all these monitors. Then they let him in. When my RESTING heart rate goes up to 110 they get a bit nervous so they finally decided to inject some seriously strong crazy narcotic into my bloodstream and then I get discharged after they monitor me for a good 30 more minutes. Michael, as I was drugged up and wasn't going anywhere anyway, helped me get my prescriptions filled (those poor people at Rite Aid probably though I was on crack) and then he got us some food for dinner at Giant and since the prescription STILL wasn't ready, he took me to a salon across the street and got them to shampoo, condition-treat, cut, and style my hair! Is he the BEST or what?

So I have been kind-of in recovery since then and it's been a whopper. I can't run or do kettlebell training. Only walking, swimming, and yoga. Boo. I hope that by the end of the holiday season I can get back to my old self... as I am athletic and I am losing weight each week (which normally would be fab but I know it is muscle so it is a big bummer). And the doctor said I cannot push myself so hard and I have to sleep more. Jeez. Does he know what I do every week? Come on!! But, in all seriousness, Michael has been really good at helping me make sure I sleep well and maintain this healthy lifestyle.

So, no idea about school finishing. I have this fantastic job and I registered for some classes. I think I may wait on Macon to see where I am at the end of this semester, GPA-wise. Plus, we will be moving *fingers crossed* on our house!
