Oldies But Goodies

These are my earliest memories of music. The songs that my daddy listened on the radio or in his K7 tapes ( Mono - The speakers of long ago with mono sound only, have changed into stereo and surround sound with 6+ sound channels).

Sunshine On My Shoulders
John Denver
Sunshine on my shoulders - makes me happy
sunshine in my eyes - can make me cry
sunshine on the water - looks so lovely
sunshine almost always - makes me high
if i had a day that i could give you
i'd give to you a day just like today
if i had a song that i could sing for you
i'd sing a song to make you feel this way
sunshine on my shoulders - makes me happy
sunshine in my eyes - can make me cry
sunshine on the water - looks so lovely
sunshine almost always - makes me high
if i had a tale that i could tell you
i'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
if i had a wish that i could wish for you
i'd make a wish for sunshine all the while
sunshine on my shoulders - makes me happy
sunshine in my eyes - can make me cry
sunshine on the water - looks so lovely
sunshine almost always - makes me high
sunshine almost all the times makes me high
sunshine almost always

Massachusetts
Bee Gees
Feel I'm goin' back to Massachusetts.
Something's telling me I must go home.
And the lights all went out in Massachusetts
The day I left her standing on her own.
Tried to hitch a ride to San Francisco.
Gotta do the things I wanna do.
And the lights all went out in Massachusetts
They brought me back to see my way with you.
Talk about the life in Massachusetts.
Speak about the people I have seen.
And the lights all went out in Massachusetts,
And Massachusetts is one place I have seen.
I will remember Massachusetts.
I will remember Massachusetts.
I will remember Massachusetts...

Hotel California
Eagles
Don Felder / Don Henley / Glenn Frey
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself
This could be Heaven or this could be Hell
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor
I thought I heard them say
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (2x)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (2x)
You can find us here
Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes-Benz
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys, that she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain
Please bring me my wine
He said, we haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty-nine
And still those voices are calling from far away
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (2x)
Such a lovely face
We're livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (2x)
Bring your alibis
Mirrors on the ceiling
The pink champagne on ice
And she said, we are all just prisoners here, of our own device
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
The stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
Relax, said the night man
We are programmed to receive
You can check out any time you like
But you can never leave

My daddy has a good taste in music, and I inherited it.And I remember those earliest days , like AMAZING days.Thank you , daddy.
